Several members of Montclair Kimberley Academy's Class of 2012 have something to celebrate this holiday season as their early college applications have met with successful results.

To date, over forty institutions of higher learning have offered admission to MKA seniors, including two at Stanford University, two at Tufts University and two at Boston College, while other admits have been received from Columbia University, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Georgetown University, the University of Pennsylvania and Wesleyan University, as well as the University of Wisconsin, Purdue University, Lynchburg College, Vanderbilt University, Bard College and from further afield, the University of St. Andrews, Scotland and Royal Holloway College, University of London.

“It is always encouraging when the hard work of our seniors pays off, and it is particularly heartening to see that they have the capacity and confidence to understand the wide range of institutions that are available to serve their interests and ambitions.” Notes Head of Upper School Campus Dr. David Flocco. “Our four college counselors, together with our Arts and Athletics counselors, have the luxury of really getting to know their students, as well as the time to identify those universities that might provide the best ‘fit’ for each student’s aspirations. To see such exciting early results is a real testament to all involved, and a credit to the entire Class of 2012."

The college athletic goals of several seniors also became reality this month.  Three will be continuing their athletic careers at Division 1 schools: gymnast David Frankl at Stanford University, baseball player Max Herrmann at the University of Rhode Island and lacrosse player Patrick Karole at the University of Denver.

Other MKA seniors who have made final matriculation decisions through an early acceptance options include: Mirsada Abdool Raman (New York University), Yanick Couture (Columbia University), Hallie Earle (Rutgers University), Jordan Elman (Muhlenberg College), David Frankl (Stanford University), Noah Kahan (Tulane University), Nicholas Lordi (Tufts University), John Mallock (University of Pennsylvania), Kyle Morris (Gettysburg University), Alex Morse (Rhodes College), Casey Musicant (Vanderbilt University), Edward Rossini (Tufts University), Elizabeth Sheer (Elon University), Alan Steinberg (Stevens Institute of Technology) and Zachery Wildstein (Emerson College).
