When Governor Murphy announced his newly created Governor’s Restart and Recovery Commission, MKA parent and Trustee Evelyn McGee Colbert P ‘14, ‘16, ‘20 was named one of its members. Colbert is the Founding Board Member and President of the Board of Montclair Film and Vice President of Spartina Productions. She joins other leaders in the State who also bring their experience in the areas of health care, business, finance, academics, and economics.

Governor Murphy stated, “With this task force we are bringing together some of the sharpest minds our state and nation have to offer. As I have said from the start, public health creates economic health and these individuals will help us decide when and how to restart the economy to best benefit both.” Colbert has been a member of the MKA Board of Trustees since 2011 and currently chairs the Educational Programs and Policies committee. In a recent video message, Colbert spoke to a group of 24 “Lifer” seniors who have attended MKA since Kindergarten. In her remarks, she not only noted the profound impact of the current shutdown but also highlighted the preparation for the future that MKA has provided the senior class. We appreciate the leadership Mrs. Colbert has offered on behalf of MKA and know the Commission will benefit from her vision as well.
