Malcolm Jarod Mitchell is an author, poet, and a former American football wide receiver. He was drafted by the New England Patriots in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He played college football at the University of Georgia. In 2016, Mitchell released his first book, The Magician's Hat. This children's picture book features David, the Magician, who loves to perform magic.
Ross Burach is an author and illustrator with a degree in fine arts from the University of Massachusetts. Since graduation, Ross has focused on designing characters and backgrounds for animation studios within children’s media. He has always loved combining words and pictures to create humor and has since found the perfect blend for a career in children’s books. Ross currently lives with his wife and daughter in a concrete jungle called Brooklyn.
Some of his books are Trucks Full of Ducks, I Am Not A Chair! , and Pine And Boof - The Lucky Leaf.
Betsy Bird is the Collection Development Manager of the Evanston Public Library, and the former Youth Materials Specialist of New York Public Library. Betsy reviews for Kirkus, served on the 2007 Newbery Award committee, and her children’s literature blog, a fuse #8. Betsy is the author of the picture book Giant Dance Party (Greenwillow, 2013) illustrated by Brandon Dorman, and a co-author on the nonfiction book Wild Things: Acts of Mischief in Children’s Literature (Candlewick, 2014) which she wrote with fellow bloggers Julie Danielson and Peter Sieruta.
