Virtual  Parenting Workshops 2020-2021

Parenting Workshops is going virtual this year! We are pleased to announce that we will feature a few different workshops and discussions throughout the 2020-2021 school year.

 
Our first event will be a discussion of the book White Fragility: Why It’s So Hard For White People To Talk About Racism by Robin DiAngelo, PhD. [Learn more]

In June, the MKA community received a communication from Tom Nammack that spoke about the work that needs to be done to make us a more informed school (students, parents, and faculty). He reminded us that good intentions are not enough; intentional education and self-development are required. Anti-racism begins with a close examination of our own individual racial identity. PAMKA believes that strong parent support is crucial to MKA’s work on anti-racism and we are proud to be partnering with faculty from all three campuses who will facilitate these sessions.

Thursday, October 15 at 7:00 pm (all sessions are happening on the same day and time):

Primary School (PS) | Middle School (MS) | Upper School (US)

RSVP: Please RSVP by Friday, October 9 for all of these virtual sessions. There is a space limit to ensure that we can have a good discussion. Please remember that this is a parent only event.

  3. All parent book discussions will be organized by affinity group. Therefore, please let us know if you identify as a person of color or as white.
