While most of our week in Antigua was occupied by manual labor and building a home for our families, the students also took time off Thursday and Friday to visit the school and medical clinic that "From Houses to Homes" has built over the past 8 years. The school visit is often the highlight of our week, as the young students smile, laugh and play with the students from MKA. The young kids at the school La Escuela Keman'Oj, which means Engineering Minds in the Mayan dialect, Kaqchikel, are very thankful and aware of the impact that MKA has had on their lives. The families of the houses we build are offered free education for their children through 8th grade and free health care. Most of the parents of our children did not attend school past the 3rd grade. Anyway, below are some pictures of the school visit..More to come as well.
