Students of all experience levels are encouraged to explore and grow as artists. Whether discovering a new passion or refining an existing talent, students are welcomed, challenged, and celebrated across every fine and performing arts discipline.
A testament to the program’s impact, 40% of students choose to continue their artistic studies well beyond the requirement, with a significant number opting to take an arts course even in their senior year. We’re especially proud that nine students from the Class of 2025 will continue their artistic pursuits in college across disciplines, including film, design, architecture, music, and visual art.

Whether visiting or performing, MKA students have access to transformative experiences at arts institutions like Carnegie Hall, Montclair Art Museum, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Broadway Dance Center, and Van Vleck House and Gardens.

- (Audition Only Groups) Students in NJ Youth Symphony, as well as NJ Symphony Youth Orchestra; NJ All-State Choir; NJ Regional Jazz Choir; NJ All-State Jazz Choir
- Regional and state music festivals and competitions (always high ratings)
- NJ State Theatre Awards - always multiple nominations and many wins each year for all three productions
