A Morning of Conversation at MKA

On Saturday, February 21st, "Captivating Conversations - Practical Advice for Parenting for 2015 and Beyond," drew a huge turnout, despite the frigid temperatures outside.
This annual morning of parenting workshops, organized by the MKA Parents' Association (PAMKA) for the benefit of the entire parent community, brings local experts to campus to discuss a wide range of topics.
Under the able leadership of Committee Chairs Kate Sonnenberg and Deborah Stehr, topics ranged from adolescent anxiety to brain development, and from organizational skills to navigating relationships in a digital world. This year's guest presenters were teenage coach Maggie DiPasquale, MKA's Head of Upper School Dr. David Flocco, Adolescent Mentoring founder Julie Madison Jacoby, MKA Middle and Upper School counselors Daniella Kessler and Joan Weller, psychologist Dr. Ann Rasmussen and Executive Director of the Communications Skills Institute Ruth Airey Vidal.
Conversations lasted long after the formal workshops ended, and parents of children of all ages left the morning equipped with ideas, strategies and practical advice.
