A Week of Success for MKA Track and Field Girls

09 January 2012

Congratulations to three of MKA's Track and Field athletes who have enjoyed a remarkable week of success.

On December 30, Lyndsi Ross-Trevor '14 captured the SEC Indoor Pole Vaulting Title at the SEC Indoor Track Championships (Liberty Division) with a jump of 10' - more than 2' ahead of her nearest competitor. At the same meet, Hallie Earle '12 ran a time of 41.98 in the 300M, which placed her 1st in the state of New Jersey.

This weekend, the good news continued. On Saturday, January 7, Ross-Trevor took second place in the Pole Vault in the Golden Bear Invitational in Kutztown, PA, vaulting to an Indoor Personal Best of 10' 6".  Meanwhile, her teammates Earle and Dana Placentra '13 competed at the Hispanic Track and Field Games in New York City.  Earle set a new MKA record, running the 200 M in 26.45, beating her own record and time that she had set last February in the NJ Prep Championships.  Meanwhile, Placentra took first place in the Pole Vault competition with a new indoor personal best, also of 10' 6".

And yesterday, Sunday, January 8, Ross-Trevor and Placentra had yet another day of competition, coming in fourth place in the Essex County Relays High Jump competition, with Ross-Trevor jumping 4' 6" and Placentra jumping 4' 8".
