Class of 2011 Receives Accepts from Record Number of Colleges

14 April 2011

The Montclair Kimberley Academy Class of 2011 received acceptances into 160 schools - a record number - reflecting the diverse interests and talents of its 105 students.

From a strong showing at the "ultras" (three accepts at Amherst, two at the University of Chicago, three at Cornell, two at Dartmouth, three at Duke, five at Georgetown, three at UPenn, four at Princeton, one at Stanford, and three at Yale) to a remarkable number of accepts at schools further afield - including to The American University of Paris, schools in California (five), Franklin College in Switzerland, Hawaii, McGill University in Canada and Puget Sound – the list, in Upper School Head of Campus Dr. David Flocco's words, "speaks not only to the diversity of interests of this exceptional class, but also to the strength of our College Counseling program. The process is about finding the right match for each student and MKA's CCO does that better than any I’ve seen."

Below is the full list of colleges accepting members of the Class of 2011. Once seniors have made their final decisions from their wide-range of choices, a final matriculation list will be available in May.
