Encore Weekend Opens Theatre Season at MKA

Encore Weekend 2010 presents the New Jersey premiere of Small Bites: A Smorgasbord of One-Act Comedies written and directed by Upper School fine and performing arts faculty member J.C. Svec.  The production comes to Deetjen Theatre after a run in the Planet Connections Theatre Festivity in New York this summer, where it received two awards.  Cast members include faculty member Nicole Hoppe, seniors Sarah Cuneo, Lauren Friezo and Chris McEwen and junior Ed Rosini.

Encore Weekend serves as a "welcome back" celebration for MKA alumni and the entire MKA community, and annually recognizes “Deetjen's Most Memorable,” a past MKA production or cast or crew member. This year, the MKA acting career of Sara Shaning ‘95 will be recognized preceeding the show on September 24th.

Small Bites will be performed at 8:00 p.m. in the Deetjen Theatre, 6 Lloyd Road, Montclair on Friday, September 24th and Saturday, September 25th. Tickets are $5.  For information and reservations, contact J.C. Svec at jsvec@mka.org
