Encore Weekend Returns September 10-12
MKA's Encore Weekend returns September 10-12, 2009, inviting back theatre alumni and the current MKA community to celebrate the start of the new 2009-2010 theatrical season.
Upper School faculty member J. C. Svec will host the world premier of the documentary On Our Stage: The Making of the Winter Musical in the Deetjen Theatre, MKA’s beautiful, air-conditioned black box venue. Produced by Matthew Palmisano ’10 and Sheridan Watson ’10, this film features the cast and crew of 2009’s MKA Winter Musical Footloose. Show times are 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 10 and 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 12.
On Friday, September 11 at 7:30 p.m. in the Avery Barras Library, there will be the presentation of the 2009 "Deetjen's Most Memorable” award, with a special ceremony and retrospective recognizing 20 years of dedicated theatre service by faculty member George Hrab
