It's a New Year and a New Day for MKA's Annual Fund Campaign
“MKA’s Annual Fund campaign is making great strides toward its goals for the 2012-2013 fiscal year. “ Reports Keith Wiggs, MKA’s Associate Director of Development. “We hope to meet or exceed the remarkable results of last year with at least 90% parent participation, matching the strong levels of support provided by faculty and employees. Thanks to everyone who responded positively to our October 2012 Phonathon, the current campaign is more than halfway complete with around 50% parent participation and some $950,000 in gifts and pledges.”
In a new development, MKA is pleased to announce that several extraordinarily generous donors have stepped forward with a special challenge to increase participation among senior parents. All new and increased gifts from 12th grade parents will be matched 1:1, up to $18,500, from now until the end of the fiscal year on June 30th.Wiggs reports that the community should look for signage on each campus that will show class-by-class parent participation rates to date. Periodic updates will also be emailed to keep everyone apprised of progress. Another Parent Phonathon will be held on January 28 and 30 and the Office of Development hopes everyone will take the call from parent volunteers and make a pledge.
“Remember, the Annual Fund provides that margin of excellence that helps distinguish MKA among its peers,” explains Wiggs. “It impacts every student by supporting faculty, program and plant enhancements that contribute to academic excellence.” Wiggs also notes that according to the National Association of Independent Schools, parent participation in annual giving provides an easy point of comparison among institutions and indicates a robust culture of philanthropy, strong governance and the secure financial health of a school.
MKA’s Annual Fund campaign continues through June 30, 2013 and everyone is encouraged to join in supporting this essential endeavor.
