Make Your Way to the Forum
Don't miss an opportunity to see The Montclair Kimberley Academy’s winter musical production of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum on Friday, February 26th, Saturday, February 27th and Friday, March 5th at 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, March 6th at 2:00 p.m., in the Weiss Auditorium, 6 Lloyd Road, Montclair.
Inspired by the farces of the ancient Roman playwright Plautus, Forum tells the bawdy story of a slave named Pseudolus and his attempts to win his freedom by helping his young master woo the girl next door. The plot displays many classic elements of farce, including puns, the slamming of doors, cases of mistaken identity (frequently involving characters disguising themselves as one another), and satirical comments on social class. The musical's original 1962 Broadway run won several Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Best Book.
Produced and directed by MKA Upper School Fine and Performing Arts faculty member Nicole Hoppe, the production features a student cast, crew and pit band. Tickets cost $20 and $15 and may be purchased from the Box Office, by calling 973-842-2849 or online.
