MKA 3rd Graders Make Huffington Post's "Top 11 Kids Making a Difference"

Congratulations to MKA third graders Kennedy and Taylor Everson who have just been named among the "Top 11 Kids Making a Difference" by The Huffington Post.

First profiled in Baristanet, the twins visited Kenya this past summer where they worked with Free the Children, an international charity dedicated to eliminating the exploitation of children. The girls helped in the building of a new secondary school and the impact of the experience remained with them. Rather than celebrate their recent 9th birthday with a traditional party and gifts, the twins decided to ask for contributions to the charity, resulting in an impressive donation of over $2,500 - the largest amount raised by a birthday that FTC has received to date.
