MKA 4th Grader Named Red Bulls Soccer Finalist
Congratulations to MKA 4th grader Cameron Greene, who was recently named a 2011 Red Bulls Soccer Skills Champion Finalist (one of sixty drawn from a pool of 6,500) at the Regional Development School Skills Challenge Regional Final held at the Peddie School this past Saturday.
Cameron, who has been involved with soccer since he was four years old, began competitive travel soccer at age seven, and currently plays on the Montclair United U-10 Boys Academy Travel team, was invited to join the Red Bulls’ flagship Pre-Academy a year ago. The program offers advanced, intensive technical training, and holds open tri-state tryouts each season, selecting the top twelve players for each age group from elite travel player candidate pools.
Cameron also participated in the Regional Development School’s Summer Skills Challenge camp, and it was there, as one of the top-performing players in his age group, he earned the invitation to attend the Regional Final. Together with the other finalists, Cameron will be recognized when his name is shown on the video screen during half time at Red Bulls vs. the Philadelphia Union game on October 20th.
