MKA 5th Grader Presents at Liberty Science Center
Congratulations to MKA Fifth grader Kenny Stier, who has created Obsessed with Science, a series of hands-on science classes for young children. Last year, in addition to an appearance at the MKA Primary School at Brookside, he also presented a class at Liberty Science Center, where he returns this weekend to demonstrate a series of experiments that explore the senses of vision and touch.
Kenny's presentations are part of a celebration that marks the re-opening of the Liberty Science Center's Touch Tunnel experience, a crawl through a dark maze. Visitors will learn abut the eye, enjoy activities to demonstrate the “blind spot” and dominant eye, then attempt to identify unknown objects with bare or gloved hands using only their sense of touch. The final challenge is to perform ordinary tasks, such as completing simple jigsaw puzzles or assembling sets of bolts and screws, while blindfolded.
You can see Kenny in action from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 20 and Monday, February 21 in the Changing Experience Gallery on 4th Floor.
