MKA Alumna Receives a Fulbright

Many congratulations to Claudia Pepe, MKA class of 2011, Kenyon College class of 2015, who is the recipient of a prestigious J. William Fulbright Fellowship.

Pepe, who majored in Spanish literature and international studies, has wide experience in international cultural immersion and in teaching languages. An active participant in global experience opportunities while at MKA, Pepe returned to the Upper School in 2012 to share stories for an Alumni Roundtable on Global Perspectives.

Pepe has tutored elementary school students in reading and college students in Spanish. She has volunteered in Ecuador, Argentina, Paraguay and Guatemala through summer community service projects and studied for a semester in Peru, where she worked with a women's legal rights group. Pepe is hoping to work with an organization in Mexico that advocates gender equality and is interested in a career related to the rights of Hispanic immigrants in the United States.
