MKA Announces Appointment of New Director of Admissions & Financial Aid
It is with great pleasure that Montclair Kimberley Academy Headmaster Thomas W. Nammack recently announced the appointment of Alyson Rosenthal Waldman, MKA Class of 1999, as the school’s new Director of Admissions and Financial Aid, effective July 1, 2014.
Alyson comes to MKA from The Dwight School in New York where she has been Director of Admissions, Grades 1-8, for the past eight years. Prior to her work at Dwight, Alyson was a teacher at P.S. 76, The Bennington School in the Bronx, and the Dalton School in Manhattan. She received an MA from Columbia University and a BA from Hofstra University.
“After a nationwide search,” noted Nammack, “it was clear to all who interviewed and met Alyson – administrators, staff, faculty, trustees, parents and students - that we had found an exceptional candidate for MKA. Alyson’s background as a teacher, her experience and expertise in the competitive world of Manhattan independent schools, her engaging and dynamic personality and her first-hand knowledge of MKA make her the perfect fit. We are fortunate and proud that Alyson has chosen to “come home” and we know she will do great things for MKA.”
Alyson is married to Matthew Waldman, an alumnus and a member of the MKA Class of 1998. They reside in Hoboken with their two-year old son, Archer.
