MKA Announces Appointment of New Head Varsity Girls' Basketball Coach
MKA's Director of Athletics Todd Smith recently announced the appointment of Jessica Bishop, MKA Class of '04, as Head Varsity Girls' Basketball Coach for the MKA Cougars upcoming '12-13 season.
Smith noted: "Coach Bishop's enthusiastic approach and knowledge of the sport of Basketball, along with her current rapport with our athletes and her familiarity with the MKA Basketball program and school community, make her an ideal candidate for the head coaching position.
Coach Bishop, who has worked as the team's assistant coach for the past four years, brings with her a wealth of experience as a former player for the MKA Cougars and Franklin and Marshall College. Her level of enthusiasm and clear vision for the MKA program bodes well for the future of the MKA Girls’ Basketball Team as it continues to take steps to become one of the top prep programs in the state.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank former coach MaeOla Bolton for everything she has done for MKA and the Girls' Basketball program during the past three years. Coach Bolton’s dedication to and enthusiasm for our program and players helped lead the resurgence of Cougar Basketball. We wish her the very best as she pursues a teaching career in Newark, NJ."
