MKA Announces Appointment of New Member of the College Counseling Office
MKA is honored to announce the appointment of Maryanne Kesler as a Senior Associate Director in the College Counseling Office.
Kesler comes with a wealth of high school college admissions experience and has guided students through the college admissions process at three prestigious independent schools - Sailsbury and Hotchkiss in Connecticut and Lawrence Academy in Massachusetts. She has also taught English, tutored in a Learning Center and served as a Testing Coordinator for the College Board's SAT and AP examinations.
Kesler earned her BA from Notre Dame University's Honors Program, an MA in journalism from New York University and an MEd from Queens College of the City University of New York. Prior to working in independent schools, she was a reporter for an NPR affiliate in Colorado, an Assistant Editor for Good Houskeeping magazine and taught at a Native American boarding school in New Mexico.
"We're thrilled to have someone with college counseling experience at some of the top boarding schools in the country join our team." Commented MKA's Director of College Counseling Alan Fraker. "Maryann joins a remarkable team of colleagues who have mostly come from the world of college admissions, and her appointment will not only enrich the Office as a whole but also benefit our students very directly."
