MKA Announces New Head Ice Hockey Coach

The Montclair Kimberley Academy is pleased to announce that Brack Healy has been appointed Head Varsity Ice Hockey Coach for the upcoming 2009 season.

Throughout his career Coach Healy has done an outstanding job of working with athletes and helping them reach their potential both on and off the ice.  His enthusiastic approach and knowledge of the sport of Ice Hockey and his rapport and with his athletes made him an ideal candidate for the head coaching position.

A lifelong Montclair resident, Healy was a former MHS varsity player, and a Montclair High School JV and varsity ice hockey coach.  Current MHS Head Coach Patrick Verney states “Brack Healy is prepared in every way to be the leader of The Montclair Kimberley Academy Ice Hockey Program.  He has as much hockey experience and knowledge as any top level varsity coach in the state of New Jersey.  He has a fantastic reputation around the state, and he has strong contacts in the hockey community.  Most significantly, he understands how important it is for his players to be productive in the classroom and to be role models in the school’s community.”  While current New Jersey Devils goalie, Martin Brodeur states, “He shows great discipline on the bench and his demeanor carries over onto his players.  His teams are always the most prepared and consistently perform at their highest levels.  His dedication and commitment are well-demonstrated through the strong performances by his teams.”

We are excited that Coach Healy, will lead the Cougars as we enter the newly established Essex County Conference in the New Jersey Interscholastic Hockey League.  His excitement and vision for the future of MKA Ice Hockey make him an outstanding addition to the MKA community and under his leadership we will be able to continue the long successful tradition of MKA Ice Hockey.
