MKA Announces Receipt of a Major Gift
It is with deep appreciation that The Montclair Kimberley Academy announces today a gift of $500,000 gift from Tracy Higgins and James Leitner.
The gift will be used for construction of a new Common Room at the Middle School campus, to be named the "James and Louise Higgins Common Room" in honor of Ms. Higgins's parents. Ms. Higgins's children are Primary and Middle School students at MKA.
"This is a wonderful and generous gesture." Notes MKA Headmaster Thomas W. Nammack, "It is a major gift that will enable us to continue to implement a Strategic Planning Goal of providing first-rate facilities to enhance the excellence of our programs and the daily experiences of our students." Construction of the new Common Room, scheduled for opening in September 2012, is the next phase of a campus renovation that has recently seen a new lobby and auditorium, again financed by the generosity of donors.
