MKA Athletes Suceed on the Track and on the Ice

19 February 2010

On February 17th, sophomore Hallie Earle set two new school records at the NJ Prep Indoor Track Championships in Lawrenceville, running 26.76 seconds in the 200 Meters and 7.55 seconds in the 55 Meters. Hallie won silver medals in both events and has now qualified for Eastern States and Nationals in March.  She will join teammate Laura Placentra '10 (Pole Vault) at both championship meets.  Laura recently jumped 10'7" for a new school record and personal best.

On February 18, the MKA Varsity Ice Hockey Team avenged an earlier season loss, defeating Montclair High 5-4 in a thrilling come-from-behind victory last night at Clary Anderson Arena in Montclair.  The Cougars go on to play West Essex in the Essex County semifinals on Wednesday, February 24th at 4:45 p.m. at Codey Arena (formally known as South Mountain Arena) in West Orange.
