MKA Faculty Score Victory Over Students in Charity Game
The MKA Middle School's much-anticipated annual Faculty vs. Students Basketball Game for charity, held on February 3, didn't disappoint. In front of a huge and enthusiastic crowd, the faculty narrowly beat the students in a nail-biting, hard-fought contest.
Further entertainment was provided by the Middle School Chorale Singers' (with guest singer PE teacher and coach Ken Smith) rousing rendition of The Star Spangled Banner, aspirited Middle School Pep Band, and half-time dance entertainment.
From the combined proceeds of T-shirt sales, entrance fees, a coin drive and food sales, the evening event raised an incredible $10,500 for Team Zoey (supporting Progeria research) and the Montclair Volunteer Ambulance Fund.
"The Faculty vs. Student Basketball Game is just one way that we all work together as a community to help people with our time, talent and energy." Notes Middle School Student Government Co-Advisor CherylAnne Amendola; "but it is an event that has become a highlight of the MKA Middle School experience for students, faculty and parents alike!"
