MKA Fourth Grader Takes First Prize at State Piano Competition
Congratulations to talented MKA fourth grader David Zhu who recently won first place for his solo, and third place for his concerto performances in the statewide MEA-NJ Piano competition held earlier this month.
David's success in the 10-year-old age group follows his similar success in the 9-year-old division last year, where he won first place in both categories. First placed students performed at a winner's concert held at Jersey City University this past weekend. David played his solo pieces, Grieg's Waltz in E Minor, Op. 38 #7 and Papillons, Op. 43 #1. In addition to the piano, David also plays the violin with the MKA Strings Orchestra.
