MKA Grad Recognised as a Fulbright Scholar and an Outstanding Community Leader

23 April 2010

Congratulations to Eli Bildner, MKA Class of 2006 and Yale Class of 2010, who has not only been awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to do microfinance work in China next year, but has also been named as one of three Yale undergraduates to receive an Ivy Award from University and the town of New Haven for his work as an outstanding community leader.

Bildner is the CEO and Co-Executive Director of the Elmseed Enterprise Fund, a fund dedicated to creating "successful small businesses in New Haven by providing start-up capital, technical assistance, and a network of peer support."  Under his leadership and direction, the fund has encouraged sustainable economic self-reliance by issuing 30 loans to more than 20 small area businesses, totalling nearly $60,000.
