MKA Model UN Visits Brown University Conference

12 November 2012

On November 9-11th, a group of 19 MKA Model UN students, led by Upper School teachers Tom Carroll and Isabel Janelli, travelled to Brown University in Providence to participate in a three-day Model UN conference.  The MKA students researched and debated such topics as the global economy, human rights and ecology. This was the third consecutive year that MKA has participated in this conference and over 75 schools and 800 students from all over North America took part.  In addition to providing the opportunity to learn more about current issues and hone public speaking skills, the conference allowed the MKA students to make new friends, to experience college life and to explore a new city.  In February, a different group of 20 MKA students will attend the next three-day conference at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.
