MKA Musicians Perform at Carnegie Hall

This past weekend, the MKA strings program directed by Dimitri Hadjipetkov presented one of their biggest productions ever at Carnegie's Zankel Hall. The concert featured over 100 strings students from all three campuses. The very challenging repertoire was masterfully performed by the String Orchestras. Some of the highlights were the original versions of Bach's Concerto for Two Violins and Grieg's Holberg Suite and Beethoven's Symphony No. 1 featuring woodwinds from the Upper School Band. MKA Upper School choirs, directed by Maria Gilmartin, also joined the strings for beautiful performance of choral works by Vivaldi and Handel.
