MKA Presents King Phycus as Upper School Fall Play

15 October 2014

Featuring a student cast of fifteen directed by MKA Upper School F&PA faculty member J.C. Svec, this year's Upper School Fall Play is King Phycus by Tom Willmorth.

A fast-moving satire, King Phycus is a tragi-comedy that combines the plots of Shakespeare's Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, Julius Caesar and Macbeth into "a whirlwind of iambic pentameter consisting of thousands of characters (…at one point a single actor plays 20,000 Romans). Rumored to be Shakespeare's earliest work, delight will be found in buckets of wit and fanny-packs of knock-knock jokes." (The Hollywood Fringe)

Six performances will take place in the Deetjen Theatre, 6 Lloyd Road, Montclair on the following dates: Thursdays, October 30 and November 6 at 7:00 p.m., Fridays, October 31 and November 7 at 8:00 p.m. and Saturdays, November 1 and November 8 at 8:00 p.m.For ticket information and questions, contact J.C. Svec at jsvec@mka.org
