MKA Science Faculty take TEAMwork to the Next Level

13 June 2013

In another example of the long and strong relationship between MKA and the TEAM Academy Kipp School in Newark, some of MKA's science faculty lent their expertise to a recent TEAM Science Fair for 5th-8th grade students.

MKA trustee and TEAM volunteer Linda Sterling explains: "TEAM Academy had been looking for science teachers to help judge the fair and I had reached out to Upper School teachers Tom Holt and Tim Lynch and Middle School Science Department Chair Ben Goodrich, who all volunteered to be the judges from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. on June 7.  Having had a long week with finals and graduation, they were all so incredibly helpful and gracious, and TEAM really appreciated their assessment of the different science projects."

MKA has provided support to the TEAM, and subsequently SPARK and RISE schools since 2003, through a robust parent, student and faculty tutor program, general volunteers, shared resources and library donations from PAMKA Book Fairs.
