MKA Sends 20 Delegates to Model UN

05 February 2014

With the increasing focus on global issues and travel at MKA, Model UN continues to be a popular extracurricular activity for Upper School students.  From January 30th - February 2nd, a group of 20, together with faculty advisor Tom Carroll, participated in the 30th annual Model UN conference at the University of Pennsylvania.  Lead by four-year Model UN participant Aaron Stagoff-Belfort and fellow senior Jamie Mitrovic, the MKA delegation represented the country of Argentina.  The delegates debated such matters as income inequality, human trafficking and global warming.  This year's conference was the largest on record with over 2,800 students attending from all over the globe. In addition to the debates, students also had the opportunity to tour UPenn, visit Reading Terminal Market and sample local cuisine.
