MKA Seniors Meet With Early College Successes
For many members of the MKA Class of 2015, the new year got off to a great start with the news that their early college applications had met with success.
To date, 75 institutions of higher education have offered admission to more than 70% of MKA seniors, representing the wide range of student interests in the Class of 2015. From the technical (Stevens Institute of Technology, Georgia Institute of Technology) to the artistic (The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Pratt Institute and School of the Museum of Fine Arts); from the large (Arizona State University, University of Michigan) to the small (Malacaster College, Beloit College); from the near (Seton Hall University) to the far (The American University of Paris); and from the traditional (the University of Chicago, Yale University) to the progressive (Oberlin College, Bard College) seniors have successfully found their fit.
"We are very proud of this talented group" notes Upper School Head of Campus Dr. David Flocco, "and of their counselors who have helped them along the way." MKA students benefit from an unusually well staffed College Counseling Office that includes four full-time counselors and two part-time specialists (in the arts and athletics) for a senior class of 101 – a ratio that ensures that each student receives in-depth and expert guidance throughout the college application process.
