MKA Strings Program Performs at Music Festival and Carnegie Hall

The MKA Strings Program had an extremely successful outing to the Music in the Parks Festival held at Great Adventure last week. Under the direction of Dimitri Hadjipetkov, all four groups that participated received an Excellent rating. In addition, the 4^th/5^th Grade Ensemble, the 6^th/7^th/8^th Grade Ensemble and the Upper School Chamber Selected Orchestra took first place, while the Upper School Strings Ensemble came in second place.

The MKA Strings musicians’ next public performance will be on Saturday, May 19, when the Strings Program presents its 17^th Annual Strings Gala at Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall at 3:00 p.m.

Students, ranging in age from Kindergarteners to seniors, will perform a selection of works from various composers, including Mozart, Bach, Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Vivaldi and Fauré.
