MKA Students Enjoy a Global Experience in Quebec

26 February 2013

One of MKA's first Global Experiences for Upper School students this year took place over Presidents' Day weekend, when an intrepid group of 28 French students and 4 teachers braved 4 days of sub-freezing weather for MKA's third Winter Wonderland Tour to Quebec.

The bitterly cold weather did not keep the group from having a exciting trip, highlights of which included dog sledding, snow tubing, ice skating and tobogganing.  They also had the opportunity to experience an authentic lumberjack meal at a Cabane à sucre, complete with authentic Québécois music and dancing.  While there, the group was also able to enjoy Québec's Winter Carnival, complete with snow sculptures, an ice castle, a parade of lights, music and the Bonhomme de Québec.

The MKA Global Experience Program, which provides opportunities for students both in and outside the classroom to develop an awareness of themselves as global citizens, will next offer this trip to French students in 2015.
