MKA Students named National Merit Finalists
Congratulations to MKA seniors Mary Labowsky and Giri Nathan, who have been named finalists in the 2009 National Merit Scholarship Program, and have the opportunity to continue in the competition for some 8,200 Merit Scholarship awards that will be offered in the spring.
At MKA, Labowsky is a member of the Community Life Committee, Treasurer of the ABC Club and a member of the French Club, the varsity Tennis team, the MKA Strings Program and the Math Team and is also a House Captain.
Nathan is the President of Habitat for Humanity, the News Editor of the Academy News student newspaper, a member of the Honor Council, of the Math Team, and varsity Tennis team and is active in Model UN.
In addition, both students were named 2008 MKA Faculty Scholars and Mary K. Waring Scholars (receiving all A’s and A-‘s).
