MKA Students Take On The Faculty - and Win!

03 February 2015

A signature experience of the MKA Middle School, the annual Student vs. Faculty Basketball Game held on Friday, January 30 was another huge success.

Organized by Middle School Student Government with support from faculty and parents, a standing-room only crowd came out to cheer on the players and enjoy a nail-biting contest that the students, gaining revenge for last year's defeat, ultimately won 58-53. Middle School singers, dancers and Pep Band added to the entertainment, while food donated by parents, special event T-shirt sales and homeroom coin drives added to the fundraising success of the night.

This year's charitable recipients, selected by the students (traditionally, one local and one national or international organization), are The Valerie Fund and the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, who together will receive $10,000.

"We have a great community at MKA," notes Parent Association Middle School Campus Outreach Chair Tripti Singh, "and events like this make the community even stronger."
