MKA Teacher and Students Return to NYC Stage this Summer
MKA Upper School Fine and Performing Arts faculty member J.C. Svec returns to New York this summer with a largely MKA-based cast to present
A Cordial Invitation, written and directed by Svec, as part of the Tribe Production's 3rd Annual Planet Connections Theatre Festivity.
A collection of three one-act comedies, A Cordial Invitation is not an invitation to the ceremony or reception, but to the events lost in the celebration of someone’s special day. Let John and the Three Bridesmaids help locate your table, join Jake … and Guest on their date, and if you understand film romance, then Here’s Looking at You.
The ensemble cast includes Nadia Brown, Sarah Cuneo,MKA Class of 2011, Lauren Friezo,MKA Class of 2011, Rob Gelberg,MKA Class of 2010 and Edward Rosini,MKA Class of 2012.
Svec’s most recent New York productions include Small Bites: A Smorgasbord of One-Act Comedies at The 2010 Planet Connections Festivity and The Concrete Wall at the 2010 Samuel French Off-Off Broadway Festival.
A Cordial Invitation will be performed at the Gene Frankel Theatre and Robert Moss Theatre on June 13 at 6:30 p.m., June 15 at 8:00 p.m., June 19 at 12:00 p.m., June 21 at 7:00 p.m., June 23 at 4:30 p.m. and June 25 at 8:30 p.m.
