MKA's Ben Rich Rides Into the Record Books
MKA Upper School science teacher Ben Rich rode into the record books this summer as he spent six weeks as a member of the 12-person Ride the Future Tour. Lasting from July 4 to August 16, the 3000-mile cross-country tour from South Carolina to California was conducted on and in electric vehicles, and was designed to raise awareness about gas emissions.
Rich, whose electric motorcycle is a common sight around MKA's campuses, now has the distinction of being the first person to ride across the country on a production electric motorcycle and only the second person ever to cross the country on an electric motorcycle.
