MKA's Book Fair gets Media Coverage
As MKA's amazing 2008 Book Fair Safari wound down, The Star-Ledger featured an article on Ishmael Beah's visit to the Upper School campus, and visiting author Lisa Yee describes her visit to the Middle School campus in her blog.
Beah, author of the best-selling "A Long Way Gone, Memoirs of a Boy Soldier" mesmerized his audience with his moving story of horror and the survival of the human spirit, while Yee, author of the best-selling "Millicent Min, Girl Genius" and "Stanford Wong Flunks Big Time" captivated her audience with her charm and humor as she described her journey from writer to author.
In addition to Beah and Yee, students at MKA enjoyed remarkable presentations from some of the leading names in children's literature: Daniel Handler (aka Lemony Snicket), Jeff Kinney, David Adler, John Lithgow and Judith Viorst, while parents were treated to an author luncheon with Sue Miller.
