MKA's Female Athletes Get Off To A Great Start in 2014
It’s been a great start to the year for some of MKA’s female athletes who have enjoyed tremendous performances at county championships.

Senior pole-vaulter Lyndsi Ross-Trevor, currently ranked no. 5 in the country, won her second consecutive County Championship at the Essex County Indoor Track Championships held on January 25, equaling her meet record last year of clearing 11 feet – two feet ahead of her nearest competitor. At the same meet, sophomore Kathryn Correia came in 5th place in the girls’ 3,200 meters. Click here to read more about Lyndsi.

Meanwhile this past weekend, MKA’s girls’ Varsity Swim Team took fourth place overall in the Essex County Championships held at Seton Hall University, setting four new MKA records in the process: in the Girls’ 200 Medley Relay (seniors Joanna Zak and Morgan Smith and sophomores Anne Lemmer and Ana Espinosa-Dice with 1.53.07), in the 200 Freestyle (Morgan Smith in first place with 53.17, a time that is a new Essex County Championship meet record as well as an MKA one), the 100 Freestyle (Morgan Smith in first place with 53.17) and the 50 Freestyle (Ana Lucia Espinosa-Dice in second place with a time of 25.26).
