MKA's Hessler Presents at 3rd International Taoist Forum in China

Upper School history teacher David Hessler (center) traveled to Jianxi Province in south east China over the Thanksgiving break to present a paper at the Third International Taoist Forum (sponsored in part by the Chinese Taoist Association) in Yingtan City. The title of his paper, "Teaching with Tao" showed how lessons from the ancient Chinese text, Tao Te Ching, can be used to help improve one's teaching. Hessler, a recipient of the MKA Founders' Cup for Teaching Excellence as well as two PAMKA Faculty Trust Grants to study in China, served on a panel that included several prominent academics and Taoist priests from China, Australia, France, Canada, Malaysia and Singapore.
