09 June 2010

In a testament not only to their remarkable talents and abilities, but also to the preparation for rigorous study that they received at MKA, members of the MKA Class of 2006 continue to gain academic accolades at their college commencements.

At Princeton University, Andrew Davis, who graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, received the Montgomery Raiser '92 Thesis Award for the best thesis written on the literature, history, and culture of Russia and Eurasia, while William Wagner, who also graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, received the Donald E. Stokes Dean's Prize given to the graduating senior who has made the most significant contribution to the Undergraduate Program of the Woodrow Wilson School, as well as the Program in Near Eastern Studies Senior Thesis Prize given to the best senior thesis in the Program in Near Eastern Studies.

At Vassar College, Sabrina Schmidt was awarded the Phi Beta Kappa Prize at Vassar College's commencement May 23, 2010, that is awarded to the senior with the most distinguished academic record.  Presenting the award, Christopher Roelke Dean of Vassar College stated:"Sabrina is the 2010 Vassar Phi Beta Kappa member who best exemplifies interdisciplinary excellence, who best embodies those characteristics of depth and breadth in both the liberal arts and sciences. Her exceptional academic performance reflects her exceptional intelligence."

These notable students join classmate Eli Bildner who, as already reported,  graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa and received Yale University's highest honor, the Adelpus Henry Snow Prize.
