"The Fearless Project" to be exhibited in MKA's Weiss Gallery
This month, the MKA Upper School welcomes “The Fearless Project,” a photo exhibit by Jeff Sheng, to the Weiss Gallery. The "Fearless Project" has been exhibited at over 50 high schools and colleges, ESPN Headquarters, Nike World Headquarters, the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
In 2003, inspired by his own experience as a closeted gay athlete, Sheng began photographing lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender high school and college sports athletes who have chosen to live their lives openly and honestly with their peers, families and teammates. Since that time, he has taken over 150 portraits.
The MKA Upper School community will welcome Sheng to campus on April 24 when he will speak at an assembly concluding MKA's Day of Silence, a national day of recognition for LGBT students who live their life in silence.
