Second Fulbright Awarded to a Member of the Class of 2006
Congratulations to Andrew Davis, the second member of the MKA Class of 2006 to be awarded a Fulbright Grant.
Davis, who graduates from Princeton this year, will be traveling to St. Petersburg, Russia to study mathematial methods in Russian poetry. In his own words, "I'm hoping to learn how Russians traditionally have used statistics and probability theory to understand the formal structures of rhyme, meter/rhythm and syntax that are the foundation for works of poetry." This is a discipline practiced by few in this country, and was the subject of Davis's independent study while at Princeton.
Davis joins Eli Bildner, MKA Class of 2006 and Yale Class of 2010, who has not only been awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to do microfinance work in China next year, but has also been named as one of three Yale undergraduates to receive an Ivy Award from University and the town of New Haven for his work as an outstanding community leader.
