Sixteen Seniors Recognized by the National Merit® Scholarship Program

Sixteen seniors have been recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC®). Students enter the National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®) during their junior year, and recognition is shared in the fall of their senior year. The National Merit Scholarship Program is in its 68th year and is an academic competition for recognition and more than $28 million in scholarships that include approximately 1.3 million entrants each year.
Ellis Fertig and Cyrus Rosenberg have been named Semifinalists in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program. Semifinalists represent less than one percent of high school seniors nationwide. Ellis and Cyrus will now be considered for National Merit® Scholarships as the selection of approximately 7,600 Finalists from the group of more than 16,000 Semifinalists is now in progress.
The following fourteen seniors have been named 2024 National Merit® Scholarship Commended Scholars: Payam Ekrami, Hannah Ewing, Gary Gao, Sebastian Gonzalez, Gary Hu, Julia Larish, Sean Nigito, Madeline Polanskyj, Devin Ramsay, Elias Solomon, Henry Sun, Hilal Tokat, Nathaniel Turvey, and Zain Zaidi. Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 students who entered the 2024 competition, have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success, and may be candidates for Special Scholarships offered by corporate sponsors, according to the NMSC.
Congratulations to all students who were recognized for this tremendous accomplishment!
