Students featured on Everyday Math website

Two Brookside students in Ms. Lassiter's first grade class have been featured on the EveryDay Math Program website for their work on number scrolls.

Brookside first graders recently had a Number Scroll celebration in honor of the record-breaking numbers they achieved, and the two students featured on the website wrote numbers over 10,000!  Lucan Franzblau is currently around 12,000 and Bennett Knowles is around 20,000.  Generally, children write to 1,000, (the goal of the Number Scroll program,) and then stop, and although no one else in the grade got as high as these two boys, there were others approaching 5,000.
