Summer Jazz Jam Starts Monday, August 2

Running one week from August 2-6, young musicians entering grades 5-8 have the opportunity to learn the basics of jazz music theory and how to improvise a solo from a professional faculty that includes Matt Patuto, Andy McKee. Bob Henke and Program Director Linda Larkin, Director of MKA's highly successful Middle School Band and Jazz Bands.   The program, which takes place at the MKA Middle School
Campus at 201 Valley Road, Montclair, runs from 1:00 – 5:15 p.m. daily and is divided into Master Class, Theory and Listening and Ensemble periods, culminating with a 4:30 p.m. performance on Friday, August 6.  Cost is $459.  For registration information, please contact Linda Larking at llarkin@mka.org
