Two MKA Seniors Named as Finalists in the 2015 National Merit Scholarship Competition

12 March 2015

The National Merit Scholarship Program is an academic competition for recognition and scholarships that includes approximately 1.5 million entrants each year. Of these 1.5 million entrants, approximately 16,000 students are National Merit Semifinalists. The National Merit Scholarship Program has now determined which of the 16,000 Semifinalists named in September 2014 have met all requirements to advance to Finalist standing in the competition.

MKA seniors Kristof 'Miki' Peiffer and Benjamin Rapsas were chosen and will be considered for National Merit Scholarships to be offered in 2015. Ben said, "We never thought we would receive this honor. We always looked up to the others who had received it before us and aspired to achieve what they had."

The selection of some 8,000 Merit Scholarship® winners from the group of more than 15,000 Finalists is now in progress. In March, scholarship offers to winners will announced. Congratulations to Ben and Miki on this tremendous accomplishment.
