MKA Spring Movie to Premiere in May

17 April 2012

May 2012 sees the premiere of Alone, the tenth original spring movie to be produced by Montclair Kimberley Academy. Every other year, the Upper School campus transforms into a highly successful movie set and production studio - the prior nine MKA films have garnered almost seventy professional awards between them for writing, direction and production and poster design.

Written and directed by faculty member J.C. Svec and starring senior Edward Rosini and sophomore Emma Hart, Alone is the haunting of tale of Steve and Linda, two teenage students unknowingly lost in time.  The students desperately search for answers in a changed and unfamiliar deserted building that was once their school.  Their journey is made even more difficult by the cat and mouse game they play with the apparition of an eight-year old girl. The three, locked out of the rest of the campus, finally realize their fate at the school’s swimming pool.

Co-produced by seniors Mirsada Abdool-Raman and Zachary Wildstein, Alone will premiere on Thursday, May 10th at 7:00 p.m. in the Deetjen Theatre, 6, Lloyd Road, Montclair, with additional screenings on May 11th and May 12th at 8:00 p.m. and again on Thursday, May 17 at 7:00 p.m. and on Friday and Saturday, May18 and 19 at 8:00 p.m.  General Admisison is $5.00, with a portion of the proceeds going to the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation.
