MKA's Rosini Receives Rising Star Nomination
Congratulations to MKA junior Edward Rosini who has been nominated for a 2011 Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Award in the category of Best Supporting Actor. Rosini received the nomination for his portrayal of Prince Dauntless in this year's Upper School Winter Musical production, Once Upon a Mattress.
Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Awards, presented by the Investors Savings Bank Foundation, were created in 1996 to encourage and reward exceptional accomplishments in the production of high school musical theatre. Now in its 16th year, the Rising Star Awards is a statewide competition for New Jersey high school musicals, modeled after Broadway's Tony Awards. A Rising Star Award "Corps of Evaluators" (comprised of theater professionals, performing artists and designers, and theater arts educators) fan out across New Jersey between January and April to see shows at 100 entered schools and make nomination recommendations in various performance and production categories.
Rosini is one of only seven students statewide to receive a Final Nomination in this category. Award Winners will be announced on June 7.
